11th February, 2015
The first impressions of MYOB2015 Roadshow are in, and we’ve had some great feedback! I caught up with a handful of accountants during the launch on Monday 9 February and asked them for their thoughts.
If you’re already booked in to attend a Roadshow near you, we’ll see you there. Read on to get a taste of what to expect. If you haven’t yet decided to attend, please do – there’s lots to show and tell and chat about together.
Here’s what Melbourne’s accountants had to say about MYOB2015 Roadshow …
PGP Consulting, Melbourne CBD
Q: WHAT BRINGS YOU TO ROADSHOW TODAY?
Kevin: Just to see what’s going at MYOB, what’s developing, and what’s new.
Q: WHAT’S THE HIGHLIGHT SO FAR?
Kevin: Seeing some of the new apps, how they’re working and what it’s going to do for the oncoming years and what we can expect in 2015.
Kemp & Partners, Frankston
Q: WHAT BRINGS YOU TO ROADSHOW TODAY?
Peder: We’re very keen to see what MYOB has in store for 2015. Obviously we’ve heard about some of the new software that’s coming out and the new updates. And we’re keen to get a look in and see what’s actually going to happen and what benefits our clients and our practice can get from it all.
Q: WHAT’S THE HIGHLIGHT SO FAR?
Peder: Highlight has definitely been the portal [MYOB Portal] for clients and Accountants Office. It looks like we can get a lot of value from that. It’s a good place to build off to keep track of clients – to see where they are and obviously keep them up-to-date and on track.
Marendaz Accountants and Business Consultants, Diamond Creek
Q: WHAT BRINGS YOU TO ROADSHOW TODAY?
Phil: It’s my first ever Roadshow! I need to get a better understanding of all the add-ons to capture data. That’s the main reason I’ve come here. I’m fairly familiar with MYOB and what it’s doing, but it’s what I can bring to our client base to add efficiencies to their data capture.
Q: AND WHAT’S THE HIGHLIGHT SO FAR?
Phil: I’ve loved SmartJobs. I can see a wide range of usage for that – from tradies to our metal fabricating clients – to get a better understanding of price at cost of production.
Q: SO IT’S YOUR FIRST ROADSHOW. HAS IT LIVED UP TO EXPECTATIONS?
Phil: Attending a Roadshow is absolutely essential in keeping up-to-date with all the trends in the industry. Because you hear about it – the people are here.
MSI Ragg Weir, Hawthorn
Q: WHAT BRINGS YOU TO ROADSHOW TODAY?
Marcus: I’ve been sent here by the partners to see the various innovations that MYOB has on display. And also from a roadmap perspective, to see what’s coming in the future year that MYOB’s got planned.
Q: AND WHAT’S THE HIGHLIGHT SO FAR?
Marcus: The highlight for me has been to hear Tim’s [MYOB CEO Tim Reed] vision of what’s going on for the future. And subsequently to see the billing function [smart bills] and OCR technology.
Q: HOW DOES THIS ROADSHOW COMPARE WITH PREVIOUS ONES?
Marcus: I’ve been to three Roadshows now, and each year just builds on the last. Because of the innovation that we see, it just makes it more and more interesting. It makes you want to come to the next one, to see what’s coming in the next 12 months, and what has progressed in the last 12 months.
It’s good to know where MYOB is. As practitioners we can see where the product is going. Being informed I think is a good thing for us.
Q: WHAT’S THE YEAR GOING TO HOLD FOR YOU?
Marcus: A lot of change! A lot of change for ourselves and clients. Just to be across all these enhancements and changes and just get our clients involved and get that advantage that we seek for them and they seek for themselves.
There are still places left, but filling fast.
