INSIGHT for INCITE: Tim Reed

INCITE 2017 will be all about confronting the future head-on and embracing the possibilities, something of a passion for MYOB Chief Executive Tim Reed.
He’ll be speaking at INCITE about what shape the accountancy industry will take in the future, and what it will look like.
Think connectivity, collaboration, and new tech opening up a whole new world of possibilities.
Here’s what he’s looking forward to at INCITE 2017.
One thing I know for sure
Things are going to become more uncertain, before they become more certain.
Politics, technology, world trade, my teenage kids (ok – maybe parents have always been uncertain about their teenagers and it’s not just my kids) … never has change been occurring on so many fronts all at once.
One thing I have no idea about
So many to choose from! I know nothing about Irish dancing, nothing about Android phones, nothing about my schedule next week … this list could get very long!
One thing that will change in the world
Just one thing?
At heart I’m an optimist and I believe in progress over perfection. I believe in and amongst all this change society is opening up to the idea that diversity builds strength. That idea is being challenged, but I think we’ll come out the other side stronger.
I believe traditional gender roles will continue to be challenged and the number of women in business leadership positions will grow.
One thing I’m looking forward to at INCITE
I could say the muffins, because I’ve been known to grab one of two here and there … but I think what I’m really looking forward to is sharing not just what we are doing at MYOB (which we’ve traditionally done) but more about why we are doing these things.
Success at INCITE for me would be to inspire everyone who attends to think differently about how they tackle the change that they are facing – hopefully this change in emphasis will achieve that end.
