MYOB’s General Manager of Product and 2019 Partner Awards judge, David Weickhardt, said the quality of the award candidates made selecting winners a real challenge.
“MYOB’s vision for a connected practice relies on the work of these exceptional accountants and bookkeepers – and many others like them in our extended network,” said Weickhardt.
“The nominees and recipients of the 2019 Partner Awards present an incredible cross-section of partners, practices and individuals who are all operating at the pinnacle of their field, setting a fantastic example for their peers and shaping a stronger future for the Accounting industry.
“We’re honoured to have them as part of our community.”
Accountant of the Year (Australia), Clint Bourke from Roberts & Morrow said, “I’m so surprised to have won”.
“I’m only one piece of the puzzle of an amazing accounting company I’ve been really lucky to be part of.
“They’ve given me the keys to drive technology forward, which is such an exciting experience.”
Australian Certified Consultant of the Year, Kyelie Baxter of IQ Accountants said that receiving the award was somewhat overwhelming.
“It’s been a massive year for our business,” Baxter said.
“We’ve continued to grow and flourish, which has been so exciting to see.
“I’m completely overwhelmed, but I feel very blessed. It’s not something I take lightly.
“I know it’s MYOB’s big award. I feel like being an accountant, bookkeeper and a Certified Consultant is a triple threat and that’s very important to me, so to be recognised at this level is amazing.”
“The roles of accountants and bookkeepers is changing dramatically,” added Weickhardt.
“Partners like Roberts & Morrow and Atkins & Associates demonstrate commitment and adaptability to serve the needs of their customers to ensure Australia and New Zealand’s businesses continue to thrive.
“It’s exciting to see rising stars like Shaun Borg, Danica Clunes and Joanne Mankelow leading the charge of the next generation, dedicated and equipped to adapt to the changing needs of our businesses,” he said.
