MYOB supports the Silver Ferns in pursuit of glory

25th August, 2017

See that flash of black, purple and pink? That’s a Silver Fern tearing up the court.

MYOB has signed on to support the Silver Ferns for the remainder of 2017, including a quad series against South Africa, Australia, and England and October’s Constellation Cup series against Australia.

The sponsorship will involve the Silver Ferns wearing a new black uniform featuring the MYOB logo.

“MYOB has been sponsoring Kiwi businesses for more than 25 years. They’re passionate about seeing New Zealanders, particularly women, achieve their goals whatever they may be,” said Netball NZ CEO Jennie Wyllie.

“MYOB’S NZ team is led by a strong group of women who have deep links to the community, and that’s something that really resonated with us as an organisation.”

MYOB NZ General Manager Carolyn Luey said sponsorship of women’s sport made sense.

“We’re really excited about coming on board,” she said. “MYOB is focused on supporting success in New Zealand, whether that be on the netball court or in business.

“It takes 24/7 dedication to be a Silver Fern, and we know business owners put in the same commitment to their operations.

“MYOB is dedicated to empowering female business leaders, many of whom support the Silver Ferns.”

MYOB has also flagged its intention to play a role in grassroots netball in New Zealand.

“We’re also keen to see what we can do to help grow and develop netball at a local level,” said Luey. “Helping local clubs run their activities is something we’re passionate about.”

Netball is the number one female-participation sport in NZ with more than 350,000 participants, and more than 40 percent of all New Zealanders over the age of 15 describe themselves as Silver Fern fans.

The Silver Ferns kick off their quad series games against South Africa on Saturday in Brisbane.
