Action required: Duplicate bank feeds

We’ve identified an issue with bank feed data delivered to your MYOB file, resulting in duplicate transactions appearing in the bank feeds of some users, with transaction dates ranging from 29 – 31 March 2022.

If you're using AccountRight desktop

To see if you're affected by this issue, go to the Banking command centre > Bank Feeds. Set the date filters to cover the period 29 – 31 March 2022.

If you see any duplicated transactions, you have these options to bring your reports back into balance:

  • Option 1: Record a reversal of the duplicated transaction. Reversing your transaction will bring your reports back into balance, however this won’t remove the duplicate transactions from your file. See Reversing a transaction.

  • Option 2: Unapprove duplicate transactions. See Unapproving matched transactions.

If a duplicate transaction has been reconciled, you'll need to undo the reconciliation before you can unapprove it.

Then hide the duplicate bank feed transactions so that they no longer appear in the Bank Feeds window. See Hiding bank feed transactions.

If you're using MYOB Business

To see if you're affected by this issue, go to the Banking menu > Bank transactions. Set the date filters to cover the period 29 – 31 March 2022.

If you see a duplicated transaction, you'll need to enter a balancing transaction to balance your reports. This means that for every duplicated withdrawal, you'll need to enter receive money transaction for the same amount and for every duplicated deposit, you'll need to enter a spend money transaction for the same amount.

For example, if there is a duplicate withdrawal of $100 on 29 March 2022, you'll need to enter a receive money transaction for $100 on the 29 March 2022. You may need to remove a lock period if a lock period has been applied.
