About Single Touch Payroll reporting

AccountRight Plus and Premier only

You must be reporting to the ATO via STP Phase 2

The ability to report payroll via STP Phase 1 in MYOB ended on 27 February 2025. If you haven't moved to STP Phase 2 you're not compliant with the ATO's payroll reporting rules. How to move to STP Phase 2.

Single Touch Payroll (STP) is a simple way to report your employees’ payroll information to the ATO and keep your business compliant. If you’ve subscribed to MYOB AccountRight, you can start STP reporting now — there are no additional charges.

Once you're set up, you'll send your employees' salary, tax and super info to the ATO after each pay. At the end of the financial year you'll do a quick finalisation to let the ATO know you've finished paying your employees for the year. Your employees can access their payroll information through the ATO's online service, MyGov, which also simplifies their annual tax returns.

Do I need to report via STP?

If you pay employees, you need to report to the ATO via STP. See the ATO website about starting to report STP.

Setting up STP

You'll be guided through the setup process to make sure your payroll details meet the ATO's requirements. You'll then set up a connection to the ATO.

For all the details, see Setting up Single Touch Payroll reporting. Also find out What happens after I've set up Single Touch Payroll?
