Surcharge customer payments

Tap to Pay is set up so that you pass on transaction fees to customers. This means that the transaction fees ($0.30 + 1.6% of the invoice value) are added to their invoice as a surcharge. The surcharge is then deducted from their payment before the balance is deposited into your bank account within 2 business days.

When you first set up Tap to Pay, surcharging is automatically enabled, but you can change this setting at any time.

GST when surcharging a customer

If there's GST on the invoice, there will also be GST included in a customer's surcharge. If there's no GST on the invoice, there will be no GST applied to the customer's surcharge.

The app takes care of GST calculations, so you don’t have to worry about it.
