Missing bank feed transactions

If you're expecting a transaction to show up in your bank feed, but it's not there, there are a few things to consider. Here's what to check if you're missing a transaction in your bank feed.

First, make sure you're seeing all the bank transactions

Check for transactions in the bank feed

Check the left panel of the Bank feeds window. This is where you'll see the transactions your bank has sent through.

Refresh the bank feed

In AccountRight, you can refresh your bank feed in to get the latest bank transactions. To make sure you're seeing the latest list of transactions, go to Banking > Bank Feeds and click Get Bank Transactions.

Check the filters aren't hiding transactions

The filters can sometimes appear to hide transactions when you're looking at the bank feed. To make sure you're seeing the latest transactions from your bank, open your bank feed and check the AccountDisplay Transactions and Search filters.

Account

You'll only see transactions from the selected account. If you're looking for a transaction from a different bank account, choose that account from the list in the Account filter.

Display Transactions

By default, the Display Transactions filter is set to Current. This means you'll only see transactions that haven't been approved or hidden. Once you've approved a transaction, it's marked as Approved and is hidden from the Current view.

If you're looking for an Approved transaction, change the Display Transactions filter to Approved and make sure the date filters include the transaction date.

If there's any text in the search field, you'll only see transactions containing that text. To make sure you're seeing everything, click the red cross next to the search field to clear the filter.

Looking for a matching transaction you've entered in AccountRight?

To find a transaction you've entered in AccountRight and to match it to a bank feed transaction, click Find next to the bank transaction (in the Bank Statement panel on the left side of the Bank Feeds window). In the Find a matching transaction window, check the Amount FromDated From and Search filters.

Next, check that transactions are coming through from your bank

Make sure the bank feed is still active

Have you recently set up your bank feed and not yet received any transactions? Check the status and what you need to do.

If there's an issue with your bank feed, it might prevent transactions showing up in AccountRight. To make sure your bank feed is still working, go to the Setup menu > Manage Bank Accounts.

If the status is Cancelled and you want your bank feed reinstated, you'll need to reapply. If you encounter any issues, contact us with your serial number and a description of the issue.

If the status is something other than Bank Feed Ready (active) or Cancelled, there may be an issue, and you'll need to log in to My Account and click Contact Support.

Check that the transaction is showing up in your online banking statement

Transactions sometimes take time to be processed by your bank. If your bank hasn't processed a transaction, it won't be included in your bank feed and won't appear in AccountRight.

Log in to your online banking portal and make sure the transaction shows up in your account. If you can't see the transaction in your online banking statement, and you're expecting it to be there, you'll need to follow up with your bank. Once it appears in your bank account, it should come through in your next bank feed update.

Wait for the transaction to come through

Depending on your bank, you'll generally need to wait until the next business day inside of business hours (9am to 5pm) to receive the latest transactions. Transactions don't show up immediately in AccountRight.
